In addition to our traditional hydraulic steering systems and electro-hydraulic power steering systems, which, for the last 25 years or so, we have been making for use within our own domestic marine and commercial markets, Side-Power has also developed a superyacht-specific steering system for the wider international market.
Fulfilling the standard and requirements of a commercial grade steering system, our system is a RINA classed and is a “fly-by-wire” system based around the same S-link bus as for Side-Power thruster and stabilizer systems - the difference is that in the steering system everything is made with dual configurations, to meet the required redundancy level. This dual configuration extends to the mechanical and hydraulic side of the system as well.
Side-Power superyacht steering systems can be operated from a traditional helm (wheel) or by joystick and the system is ready for autopilot interfacing.
